VL-131 Four Habits of Highly Sucessful Board Designers

VL-131 Four Habits of Highly Sucessful Board Designers

In this lecture, originally presented in China in 2010, we review four important design habits that help reduce signal integrity problems. We start with a review of signal integrity and the six families of signal integrity problems, and then discuss four habits: terminations to reduce ringing noise, short branch lengths, increase spacing to reduce near-end crosstalk, and the use of return vias to minimize ground bounce.
