VC_ASID_07 PDN Real World Issues

VC_ASID_07 PDN Real World Issues

This is lecture 7 in the Advanced Signal Integrity Design Professional Development Curriculum. We discuss how to engineer lower inductance in the PDN. This is the most important design principle for a lower PDN peak impedance. In particular we introduce a series of simple approximations to assist in trade off analysis to explore how much performance benefit there may be in a design change. This approach answers the question, “how much bang for the buck.”
