OLL-670 Low Impedance Measurements of the PDN

OLL-670 Low Impedance Measurements of the PDN

The impedance of the power distribution network is supposed to be very low, as low as 10 milliOhms in some designs. This can only be measured using the 2-port technique described in this online lecture. Key words: Ultimetrix, low impedance VNA technique, VNA Kelvin technique, milliohms and pH, VRM impedance profile, effective frequency range of VRM measuring ESL and ESR of capacitors, mounted inductance of capacitors, impedance of planes with and without capacitors.
